How To Spend 5 Days In Barcelona

As well as being Spain’s second largest city, Barcelona has now become one of the most popular destinations for tourists from around the world when they come to this country. Every month throughout the year hundreds of people choose to spend time learning more about what this amazing city has to offer.

Whether you travel by plane, boat or train to visit Barcelona you are assured of a warm welcome once you arrive. Certainly don’t be too upset when you find yourself enjoying the Barcelona lifestyle a little too much and find yourself wanting to stay longer than the 5 days you’ve already booked.

As you will see below there are plenty of places to go and things to see however we would highly recommend that you actually book on to a Barcelona walking tour. Okay, seeing the sights by the many tourist buses means you keep warm, but it doesn’t provide you with the same views of the city you get as you wander through its streets.

So what to do in Barcelona when you visit?

Take A Trip On The Harbor Cable Car

This aerial tramway covers a total of 1450 metres and connects Barceloneta with Montjuic. You will begin your journey at the top of the San Sebastian Tower (which measures 78 metres) in Barceloneta. But before your journey begins why not enjoy some light refreshment in the restaurant that is located at the top of the tower. Once on the car you then travel on to Jaume I Tower which is close to the monument of Columbus that measures a total of 107 metres before then finishing your journey at Montjuic.

Take A Stroll Through El Raval

This is city’s old literary district and up until a few years ago was not an area of the city that people would spend a great amount of time in. But of course things change and the areas dark edgy feel has been replaced by a much more colourful and vibrant one as a number of trendy shops, restaurants and businesses have decided to make this part of the city their home.

Watch A Film Outdoors

If you are intending to visit Barcelona during the summer months especially in July or August then a visit up to Montjuïc Castle is a must. At this time of the year a major film festive takes place and every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout the months of July and August screenings of various films take place. All of these screenings are preceded by some amazing live music as well.
