Vegetarian restaurants in Gràcia

For those who have adopted a vegetarian diet, it used to be a hassle to find a place to eat out. Fortunately, vegetarianism and veganism are a growing trend all over the world,  which means more and more restaurants are starting to cater to these types of diets.

If you’re living in Barcelona, will find that the district of Gràcia  offers plenty of options when it comes to vegetarian restaurants. So, the next time your friends invite you to eat out at a meat-lovers restaurant, you don’t have to refuse because you’re vegetarian – you can instead make a counter-offer and invite them out for a tasty vegetarian meal.

Listed below are some Gràcia restaurants that will fit your animal-friendly lifestyle like a glove.

El Buffet Verd

Address: Roger de Llúria, 134

This vegetarian restaurant offers a great variety of options. Try one of their salad buffets, which include a delicious selection of sauces, or one of their popular main dishes. The croquette eggplant and onion quiche are particularly otherworldly! We are sure  you’ll become an instant regular of the place right after the first bite.

With a focus on homemade food made from fresh ingredients, El Buffet Verd is a must-try for anyone living in or around Gràcia and its menu includes not only vegetarian but also vegan dishes. As a major plus, their takeaway is really cheap – for only 3.70€, you can fill a Tupperware with anything you want from the buffet.

Quinoa Bar

Address: Travessera de Gràcia, 203

With only 3 tables and a bar, Quinoa is a small vegetarian place with a big reputation in Gràcia. With very well-prepared fresh dishes and incredible natural juices, it occupies one of the top places on the list of favorite restaurants of local vegans and vegetarians. Run by only two people, it has a very friendly atmosphere and is a great place to have a nice, healthy meal with a friend.

La Nena

If you’re looking for smaller vegetarian snacks and unbelievable desserts, La Nena is the place to go in Gràcia. This small cafeteria and vegetarian restaurant, which offers toasts, bocadillos, and other small bites, is particularly famous around the area for its smooth hot chocolate, as well as its crepes and churros.

One thing people often forget when pointing out the “limitations” of a vegetarian diet is how it doesn’t exclude cake, chocolate and plenty of other delicious things. Plus, if you’re losing some weight from leaving meat out of your diet, you’ve got a lot more leeway for dessert, right?
