La Barceloneta is one of the four neighborhoods that form the district of Ciutat Vella. The neighborhood was built to provide accommodation for those who had lost their houses when the citadel was constructed.

Passeig Joan de Borbó is a large promenade with several bars and restaurants, the most popular area in La Barceloneta to go for a meal. At Passeig Joan de Borbó visitors will find anything from typical Catalan food, to Chinese and Mexican food.

Museu d’Història de Catalunya

Founded in 1996, Museu d’Història de Catalunya has the objective of making the Catalan history and culture better known at home and abroad. Visitors can explore Catalonia’s history with a permanent exhibit that shows the area’s development from prehistory until today.

Icebarcelona

Founded in 2007, Icebarcelona is the first beach ice bar in the world. The bar is made mainly of ice, with pieces like sofas, tables and statues that have been sculpted by international artists. The interior temperature of the bar is 5^oC, which means customers have to wear thick jackets and gloves inside, which are provide by the bar.

Opium

Opium is a cosmopolitan nightclub located right by the beach. The club is divided into a cocktail bar, a lounge area, and a Mediterranean-cuisine restaurant.
