Les Corts, a district for cheering and shopping in Barcelona

Les Corts is one of the ten districts of Barcelona, located between Sants-Montjuïc, Sarrià Sant Gervasi, and Eixample, in the western part of the city.

This area is mainly occupied by residential buildings and several businesses which makes it not be considered one of the most touristic districts of Barcelona.

Shopping

Visiting Les Corts you won’t find streets full of original shops like in the center, but you will be able to go to several high fashion stores.

Another good place for fashion in this barrio is L’Illa Diagonal shopping mall. This immense commercial surface has a variety of stores for all tastes and sizes like Bershka, Carhartt, Cortefiel, Diesel, Desigual, Pepe Jeans and Rituals.

One of the stores that attracts a great number of visitors is Primark, an Irish clothing store that offers a huge variety of clothes for very affordable prices.

Sports

If you are a fan of soccer, don’t miss the opportunity to visit FC Barcelona’s official stadium. Camp Nou has been the team’s home for over 60 years, having hosted numerous national and international game. Camp Nou is the single largest stadium in Spain, with a seating capacity of almost 100.000 people.

The stadium is also used to celebrate other events like concerts, having received bands like U2, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Michael Jackson.

By purchasing a Camp Nou Experience ticket, you will get to visit the stadium and FC Barcelona’s museum.

Culture

Les Corts is also home to Palau Reial de Pedralbes. The former home of the Spanish royal family is surrounded by green, lush gardens with sculptures and fountains that can be visited for free. Palau Reial de Pedralbes also hosts Barcelona Music Festival, also known as Festival de Pedralbes, a massive event that has received names Spandau Ballet, Tom Jones and the legendary Bob Dylan.

Plaça de la Concòrdia is a good place to stop for a nice, peaceful moment and snack. Hidden behind L’Illa, this plaza has a very different look from the rest of the district, with old, colorful buildings  that remind locals of a different time.
