The mere mention of the name Barcelona brings to my mind images of great fresh Spanish food, amazing bars and not forgetting flamenco dancing. Yes it is an enchanting place to visit and staying in one of the many Barcelona apartments for rent can make your time in this city even more special.
Of course you probably don’t want to miss a thing whilst visiting Barcelona to ensure that you have the most amazing experience ever. So in this article I offer up a number of tips that will help to make the most of your time when staying in Barcelona vacation rentals for any length of time.
How to see everything when in Barcelona?
As you will discover when you carry out some research online before you head off on your vacation there are numerous amazing sights to be seen. From the likes of the Cathedral designed by Gaudi to the Picasso Museum, plus not forgetting there are some really great beaches where you can relax and unwind during your stay if the weather is great and you want to spend a few hours out of your Barcelona apartments.
In fact there is something for everyone no matter their age. There is one thing that I do recommend you do and that is to spend a few hours strolling leisurely down Las Ramblas. This during the summer months has a very festive vibe to it and along with being able to wonder around the markets stop for a drink at one of its many cafes and take in an act by one of the many street performers.
Of course no visit to the city is complete without visiting the main tourist attractions. If you prefer don’t walk but rather hop on one of the many tour buses that will take you from one attraction to the next. I would highly recommend you purchase tickets that allow you to enjoy all three routes around the city. The great thing is that if you buy the €34 (adult) or €19 (child) tickets these can be used over 2 consecutive days. So you can really take in everything at a pace that you feel comfortable with.
Although you may want to say on the bus you can hop on and off whenever you want and as these services run regularly getting to your next chosen destination shouldn’t prove a problem.
We especially enjoyed using this way of viewing the city when we last visited as it was raining. So we were able to experience more of what Barcelona had to offer whilst keeping dry.
However if you can I would highly recommend that should you wish to explore the likes of the La Sagrada Familia do so early in the morning. When we were on the tour bus by the time we reached this most iconic of attractions in the city the queues to enter were quite substantial. But sitting on the top deck of the bus allows you to see this amazing building from a totally different perspective.
