One of the most iconic sports stadiums in the world, Camp Nou is among the most popular tourist attractions in Barcelona. Home to Barcelona FC for almost 60 years, it has become arguably the world’s most famous footballing venue.
Since its erection, the club has won more La Liga titles and more European titles than any other team in Europe’s elite. In this time, Barcelona fans have been witness to some of the best teams and individual players ever to play the game.
The city’s love affair with the club is enormous and nothing gets the Catalans more pumped up than watching their team. Visiting the stadium is a must for anyone spending time in Barcelona, and there are a few different ways to do this.

What is the best time to visit Camp Nou?
Visiting the place on match day
Watching FC Barcelona play at Camp Nou is the best way to visit the stadium. Seeing the players run out onto the famous Camp Nou turf is an exhilarating experience.
Tickets can be bought by different means - in my opinion the best way to purchase them are online through Barcelona's official website.
You can also buy Camp Nou tickets on other websites such as Ticketmaster, but be careful as there are also many unofficial websites, if you choose to buy your tickets from one you may end up without the ticket or your money!
Alternatively, you can buy tickets from any of the several official FC Barcelona shops scattered all over the city.
📌 We remind you that you can buy your ticket for the Camp Nou Experience with the 20% discount offered by the Barcelona City Pass. This ticket also allows you to enter the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell without queuing. All the information about the Barcelona City Pass here. |
How the ticket system for Camp Nou works
One thing that you should be aware of is the way the Barcelona tickets system works. Basically, most seats are actually held by season ticket holders.
Tickets only become available when they give up their seats. The result of this is that even if tickets are sold out a few weeks before a match, there may still be a chance that some will become available as season ticket holders give them up.
Often, many will become available in the last 48 hours before kick off. This means that you should continue to check (and check again) the website even when it says the match is sold out!

Price of Camp Nou tickets
Tickets can be rather pricey with the cheapest tickets starting at around €40 for La Liga matches and with most costing closer to €80-90.
If you don't want to part with so much cash, another way to watch FC Barcelona is to go to a Cup game instead. Cup games, especially the early rounds, are very rarely sold out and you can buy tickets for around 20 euros.
Often a weakened team will be fielded by the manager, and you may not see all the stars but you still get to see the team play in the famous stadium, and for a fraction of the price.
One final note about tickets - make sure you check the fixture date. Fixtures in Spain can often change, this may be a result of fixture clashes or mid-week games and whilst most ticket providers are obliged to inform the customer of any change in date, it's worth keeping an eye out yourself.

The stadium tour
Another way you can visit Camp Nou is via the stadium tour. The Barcelona football club basic tour costs €28 for adults, and €21 for concession and under 4's get in free.
For this price you get a behind the scenes tour of the stadium and you are given a glimpse into the experience of the club's players and staff on match day.
During the tour you will get a chance to see the away changing rooms, the players tunnel to the pitch, the dug out, the clubs trophy cabinet, and even a chance to walk out on to the famous Camp Nou grass.
Whether you decide to visit during a match day or to take a tour, I strongly recommend that you make time to visit this iconic and incredible stadium during your stay in Barcelona.
Getting to Camp Nou on match day can be quite busy, so plan ahead!
