English-speaking hairdressers in Barcelona

If, like me, your Spanish leaves something to be desired, and so does your hair, then praise the lord, there are English hairdressers in Barcelona. So your lack of Spanish need not get in the way of having beautiful locks. Hoorah.

If your wig is in need of some serious attention, it is quite easy to find hairdressers that speak a little English, but when someone is going at your scalp with a pair of shiny blades, it’s helpful if you either find an English-speaking hairdresser or an English hairdresser, or you can just try to get by with your smattering of Spanish and risk ending up looking like a reject from Edward Scissorhands.

Here are a few English-speaking salons worth investigating, although hairdressers often have signs saying ‘English spoken’ in their windows. And even if they don’t, it’s always worth asking.

But if you can’t find any and you don’t speak enough Spanish to negotiate yourself a decent haircut, here we go:

Anthony Llobet

RAVAL C/Sant Pau, 122 934413177 * 692 371 308

EL BORN C/Carders, 34 932954871 * 692 371 404

GOTIC C/Avinyo, 34 933014513 * 692 371 405

RAVAL C/Sant Pau, 122 934413177 * 692 371 308

With branches across the city, it’s not difficult to find an Anthony Llobet salon. All his stylists are English speaking and generally originate from other countries outside of Spain.

Some people rave about these salons, but I had a bad experience when they did a bad job, and I went back to get it fixed, where they charged me again. Not good practice as far as I’m concerned. But, others, are more impressed than I.
