Wine Therapy in Barcelona

Wine therapy is a form of beauty treatment in which the residues of wine making, like the pulp, skin and the seeds, are used directly on the skin.

Wine therapy first appeared in the French region of Graves, an area which is strong in wine production.

Although there are debates about the benefits of wine therapy, some say that the red grape’s properties like anthocyanosides, procyanidols and polyphenols, generate antioxidants that are beneficial to fight the ageing process by restoring collagen and elastic fibers.

The treatment usually begins with a full body exfoliation with crushed grape seeds in order to remove the dead skin. This is usually followed by a wine bath and massage.
