Strike a pose: the best yoga classes in Eixample

The ancient yogis believed that to be in optimal health both the body and the mind had to be in equilibrium, that both had to be strong and exercised to achieve a state of bliss.  The practice of yoga has been around for thousands of years to achieve this balance but has become increasingly popular in recent years for people of all faiths, beliefs, and levels of fitness.  Yoga is a fantastic way to decrease stress while increasing flexibility and strength, in addition to building up lung capacity through controlled breathing.  There’s no better time than now to take up a yoga class in Eixample to get on your path to improved health and state of mind.  Namaste!

Bikram Yoga Pau Claris

This yoga studio specializes in Bikram yoga, or the practice of hot yoga.  At Bikram Yoga Pau Claris you will definitely work up a sweat as the heat gets cranked up to about 40 degrees C during the 90-minute sessions.  The purpose of hot yoga is to help you sweat out and release any toxins you may be carrying in your body, holding you back from reaching your highest level of health.  In each session the instructor will lead you through 26 different yoga poses and 2 breathing exercises which will help you to increase your flexibility in addition to your patience and concentration.  Bikram yoga focuses on unifying the mind, body, and spirit together to have all three working in perfect harmony.  Currently, you can try out 10 days of yoga classes at this studio for 25 euros, meaning that you can have unlimited access to any and all classes during this trial period.  This is an unbeatable offer so take advantage of it while you can!

Mandiram Escuela de Yoga

Ioga Iyengar de L’Eixample de Barcelona

Ioga-BCN for short, this studio concentrates on the Iyengar method of yoga as well as pranayama, or the practice of controlled breathing.  This method works in tandem with the breathing exercises to regulate blood circulation, vertebral alignment, and of course improve flexibility.  The sessions are Monday-Friday in 90-minute segments, but there are also intensive courses that you can register for which take place on Sundays in 4-hour sessions.  One month of weekly classes will cost you 45 euros; the intensive classes are 35 euros per session.  All of the teachers are accredited and dedicated to their yoga practice, having received their credentials from the Ramamani Iyengar Institute in India.  Head over to Ioga-BCN so they can help you get started on your journey to bliss.
